Gajrela is a traditional dessert made with grated carrots, milk, sugar, and flavored with cardamom. The carrots are cooked in milk until they are soft and tender, and the milk is reduced to a creamy consistency. Sugar is added to sweeten the kheer. Chopped nuts, like almonds are added for crunch and texture. it is a popular winter dessert and is often served during festivals and special occasions.
Ingredients
- Milk 1 ½ liters
- Rice ¼ cup(soaked)
- Sugar ½ cup
- Carrots 300g
- Cream 4tbsp
- Almonds (badam) as reuired
Directions
In a pan add Milk 1 ½ liters let it boil add Rice ¼ cup(crushed) and Carrots 300g(grated)cover and let it cook on low flame for 40mins and keep stiring in between.add Sugar ½ cup mix until sugar is dissolved cook until thickened.add 4 tbsp cream mix add almonds ready to serve.
